Edward Palermo
Edward Palermo, the founding partner of the firm, has focused his practice on the defense of individuals charged with serious felony offenses. He is well known on Long Island as a very skilled trial attorney who has won numerous difficult felony matters. Mr. Palermo received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Hofstra University in 1990, where he was also a two-year starter on Hofstra’s nationally ranked football team. Mr. Palermo then went on to receive his Juris Doctor (law) degree from Hofstra University in 1994. Mr. Palermo founded the firm in 1994, when it was originally known as “Edward Palermo, Attorney At Law”. Mr. Palermo is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. He is also a member of the Criminal Justice Association’s panel of defense attorneys for federal criminal matters in the Eastern District of New York. Mr. Palermo’s practice is limited to the defense of criminal matters in both State and Federal Court. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

- Two brothers charges with first-degree rape. Each faced up to 25 years in prison. RESULT: Not guilty verdict after trial for each.
- Client charged with first-degree robbery. Faced up to 25 years in prison if convicted. RESULT: Not guilty verdict after trial.
- Client charged with second-degree burglary. As twice convicted violent felon faced minimum of 12 years to life if convicted. RESULT: Not guilty verdict after trial.
- Client, a prominent local businessman, charged with second-degree sodomy. Faced up to 7 years in prison if convicted. RESULT: Not guilty verdict after trial.
- Client, a prominent local doctor, charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a fatality. Faced a sentence of up to 4 years in prison. RESULT: Convinced the judge, over the strenuous objection of the Assistant District Attorney, to Sentence client to probation with community service. No jail time.
- Client, a prominent businessman, who faced multiple potential federal fraud and bribery counts in the Middle District of Florida ( Jacksonville). The client potentially faced upwards of 20 years if convicted on all potential charges. RESULT: Negotiated a plea disposition with the United States Attorney’s Office whereby the client plead guilty to a single count of bribery and was sentenced to, only, six-months in a federal halfway house (incarcerated only at night). The client was able to continue the successful operation of his international business.
